CE #3 Hyperlipidemia and Diabetes* (1.6 CEU)

These courses will provide pharmacies with necessary tools to provide pharmacist-delivered patient care. The tools include information needed to manage the therapy used by these patients and the skills needed to support the finances of the practice. The delivery process will include eight hours of home study focusing on treatment guidelines and evidence-based medicine followed by four hours of live training on-site in Las Vegas, which will consist of case-based discussions and hands-on training. The final component of these courses is a four-hour session that will share methods for implementation of MTM Services in order to qualify for reimbursement.

CE #9 Pharmacy Case Law Review (.15 CEU)
Tuesday, July 25, 8:00-9:30am
This course offers a discussion and review of all of the major legal cases involving pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry that were reported in legal literature during the past year. The program focuses on the underlying trends in pharmacy case law and how these cases may affect the future of the practice of pharmacy.

A discussion and review of state and federal laws or proposals for quality improvement and peer review statutes. The program focuses on application of these laws to pharmacy practice and whether such quality improvement documents are protected from discovery in pharmacy malpractice litigation.


CE #13 Developing Basic Skills in Drug Information and Drug Literature Evaluation (.20 CEU)

Pharmacists in practice are constantly receiving requests for information on some aspect of drug therapy. Quite often these requests require the practicing pharmacist to obtain additional patient background information and an extensive research of the literature in order to provide an accurate answer. This course will explain the role of drug information, provide pharmacists with a systematic approach for obtaining information and researching the literature, and provide pharmacists with the necessary skills to evaluate drug literature and apply this information to clinical decision-making.
